Here is What You'll Learn

How youth sport across Scotland is handling COVID-19

Panellists will discuss how teams and clubs are managing their way through lockdown, how they are engaging with young players and maintaining or adapting activity.

The challenges youth sport faces when lockdown is lifted

Lockdown was the first challenge posed by COVID-19, but social distancing is another that will last much longer. How will new safety measures delay and change sport in 2020-21?

How children are coping and what they expect from coaches

This webinar will feature young children and teenagers giving us their views on lockdown, social distancing and what they would like to see from their sports, parents and coaches.

How our sport community - YOU - are coping and share ideas

We encourage attendees to share experiences and ideas on new approaches to sport, engagement and coaching, as we develop knowledge for a 'new normal' in Scottish sport.

about

About the OSS

The Observatory for Sport in Scotland was launched in 2016 to support all involved in community sport, from government at national and local levels to sport bodies and the wide array of people and organisations delivering sport in our communities.

The OSS commissions, collates and communicates research and insights on community sport to help to improve policy and practice and turn around a long-time decline in sport participation across Scotland. We organise events and use evidence to inform discussion and debate, and widen understanding of sport's physical and mental health and wellbeing, and economic benefit to society.
